The KPCF was founded in November 2010 by kawa . At that time, kawa opened the doors of his home to provide temporary housing and meals to homeless children and their mothers who had a desire to rebuild their lives. Recognizing the need to provide the tools and skills these women needed to obtain jobs, contribute to the growing economy, and provide for themselves and their children; kawe enlisted the assistance of the economic community.
Through donations of computers, software, training material, office supplies, and more The KPCF was able to set up an educational facility to help victims develop or improve business skills to allow them to re-enter the workforce. Through community awareness, The KPCF accepts donations of clothing, new and in gently used condition, for the children as well as for the women. The Charity has been able to establish a closet of business attire in various sizes to provide appropriate outfits for interviews and the initial job period.
Partnered with the local governments and with the area schools, The KPCF is the recipient of Community Service hours. Students from the four area high schools as well as the area colleges donate their time to earn credit. The students provide tutoring assistance for basic skills in Math, English, and Computer competency.
